Intercomp integrates CODESYS® development environment with its industrial devices
CODESYS® is an integrated development environment dedicated to programming controller applications according to the international industrial standard IEC 61131-3. One of its main characteristics is flexibility, determined by its development, which is not focused on particular hardware but can be integrated with different types of devices to program automation processes.
CODESYS® development environment allows the creation of modern and professional visualization screens very quickly, using specialized elements and choosing from the available generic elements, customizing them flexibly according to specific needs.
Based on the PLC variables it is possible to divide (into classes, groups and types) the conditions considered critical for production, for the machine or for general operation, to view them and intervene accordingly in a specific way.
User-friendly style switch
Graphical information and display screens can be saved within the style definitions. This makes it possible to change and customize the whole project simply by modifying the style.
Language, images and units
Images and texts are managed within the lists. Graphics (pixel or vector) can be embedded and used for creating the user interface. Text lists are also available to external parties for automatic translation and display, using import/export functionality.
Modules for data recording
With CODESYS® development environment it is possible to monitor and record process data directly from the machine or plant using the dedicated Trace, Histogram and Trend functions.
In just a few steps and using PLC variables it is possible to animate visualization elements and thus perform simple movements or provide multi-touch functionality. The created visualization screens can be easily compared with other projects through a specific functionality.
All elements present on the user interface can be managed based on the access rights dedicated to single users or groups of users. Login, password management and user management features are also available in online mode.
It is possible to save complete visualization screens in libraries for reuse. Through the parameter interface, the created objects can be used with the same flexibility as IEC 61131-3 function blocks.
Data sources offer the visualization of multiple controllers from different manufacturers within a project or project screens on multiple different devices. Communication can be encrypted via X.509 certificates and therefore protected from unauthorized access, especially in Industry 4.0 environments.
CODESYS® can be integrated with a series of add-ons that can be chosen based on the architecture of a specific process and on every operational needs: they are TargetVisu, WebVisu and HMI.
Customize CODESYS® with add-ons
Control and visualization on one device
Screens created with CODESYS® can be displayed on a controller equipped with CODESYS® TargetVisu, without the need for additional hardware, directly on the device’s internal or external display.
This is an optional extension of a CODESYS® controller for displaying user interfaces or visualization screens.
It can only be implemented by the device manufacturer and customization of CODESYS® Control runtime system is required.
It is platform independent as it can be ported to different system platforms (CPU, graphics processor, graphics library, operating system).
CODESYS® TargetVisu Embedded version is available (designed for small systems) without a graphics library and with reduced system resources and functionality.
Controller functions, properties and application modes can be called directly from visualization elements.
Visualization in the Internet browser via HTML5
A controller with integrated CODESYS® WebVisu add-on allows an optimized display of every CODESYS® screens worldwide, using a web browser.
This is an optional extension (as a runtime system component) of a CODESYS® controller for displaying visualization screens or user interfaces in a web browser.
