Intercomp participates at SPS Italia 2020 Digital Days
The Digital Days of SPS Italia will take place from the 28th to the 30th of September 2020, a key event for the entire sector of industrial automation and Industry 4.0.
These are three days focused on training and networking online that will take place in what would have been the days of the fair and which will transport the automation community into a completely digital dimension. The traditional appointment inside the exhibition area of the Parma fair is instead postponed to 2021.
Intercomp will also be online with its own dedicated digital space, featuring some news, mainly represented by a brand-new series of products.
The SPS Italia 2020 fair
The SPS Italia fair is one of the most important international events for industrial automation and Industry 4.0.
Organized by Messe Frankfurt Italia, the Italian headquarters of the Frankfurt fair, SPS Italia is normally spread over six halls within the Parma fair area. The new acronym SPS, which stands for “Smart Production Solutions“, is more aimed at IT technologies (cloud, big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital twin), which are now essential for industrial automation
Over the years, the fair has recorded constantly increasing numbers, as can be seen from the analysis of the 2019 edition:
- 528 visitors, +18% compared to 2018;
- 854 exhibitors, +6% compared to 2018.
The industrial sector most represented among visitors is certainly that relating to Electronics/Electrical Engineering (18.2%), followed by the Mechanical/Steel sector (11.2%), Automotive (8.2%) and Packaging and Food & Beverage (both 7.6%).
If we then compare the data relating to the business activity of those who visited the fair in 2019, 54.8% is represented by OEM machine, component, system and plant manufacturers, 13.0% by system integrators and 9, 9% from distributors and wholesalers.
It is also very interesting to note the company functions most present among the visitors of the past edition: 42.4% includes members of technical and design offices, technical directors and research and development directors, 20.1% managing directors, owners and general managers while 16.7% is represented by the marketing and sales sectors.
What we will present
We chose to install some of the leading products in our stand for the SPS Italia 2020 fair that over the years we have perfected and transformed into advanced tools capable of fully responding to the increasingly complex needs of the industrial world.
The new digital dimension of the fair allows us to present products in our “online stand” anyway, and in particular:
- our capacitive and resistive panel PCs, including the iCOMAC 8200 equipped with a customizable keypad and international certifications;
- box PCs designed specifically for 4.0 production lines.
There will also be a selection of our best custom devices, made to measure starting from the specific needs of important companies:
- the Eye-M industrial console made for SCM Group;
- Buddy IT cart created for IMA;
- the industrial stand Brianza for the workshop designed by ATM Milano;
- the ACUS IT cart designed following the needs of logistics 4.0.
Our new solutions
In our online showcase of the SPS Italia 2020 Fair we present some of the leading innovations of the industrial division, including the new box PC 8100 multi-LAN, a device capable of perfectly responding to the versatility and reliability needs of each industrial line.
This new solution can simplify and make the automation processes more efficient: factory control, production cycle management, control and automation in the food and pharmaceutical sectors.

We chose to create and propose a webinar entitled “Overview of the solutions and application contexts of Intercomp’s panel PC and IT cart solutions” which will be held on 29 September at 11.00.

This is an initiative with great potential, capable of recreating, although to a limited extent, the relationships and exchanges of opinions and knowledge that we normally establish during the fair. And that we hope to be able to resume as soon as possible.
